Nick Nolte, 83, was once a flamboyant figure in the world of cinema, but is now almost unrecognizable. But despite his age, he remains as charismatic as ever.
Nolte’s career has spanned more than five decades, during which time he has become one of the most memorable actors of his generation. Nolte made his television debut in the 1960s and soon began landing roles in feature films.
He gained fame with roles in films like The Deep (1977), 48 Hrs. (1982) alongside Eddie Murphy, and Prince of Tides (1991), which earned him an Academy Award nomination. Nolte actually started his career as a model before moving into acting. He won a Golden Globe for Prince of Tides and got another Oscar nomination for Affliction (1997). Fun fact: He was named People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive in 1992!
His mugshot from a 2002 DUI arrest became almost as famous as his movies! 😆 He was wearing a wild Hawaiian shirt and had crazy, unkempt hair, and it went viral before “going viral” was even a thing. Despite some personal struggles, Nolte bounced back and kept delivering solid performances, including a great role in Warrior (2011), which earned him another Oscar nomination. 👊
